ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø’s educator programs are designed for K–14 educators, including classroom teachers, school administrators, instructional coaches, and district leaders. Courses and certificates work for both new teachers building foundational skills and veteran educators pursuing specialized knowledge or leadership roles. All programs are available online, either self-paced or fixed-date depending on the course.
Our courses award graduate-level extension credit in semester hours (1 unit for all EDU courses = 12.5 contact hours; 1 unit in Los Angeles educator courses = 15 contact hours). The credits earned are usually used for salary advancement, credential renewing, and/or recertification. Graduate-level extension credit is usually not transferrable toward a degree. Prior district approval is highly recommended and the responsibility of the student if using the units toward salary advancement, credential renewing, and/or recertification.
ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø PCE offers two formats. Online fixed-date courses follow set deadlines but let you complete work remotely, at your own pace within the given dates. Online self-paced courses give you six months and no set meeting times or due dates.
Most ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø educator certificates can be earned in less than 10 months when taken sequentially, faster than a typical graduate degree. You are given up to five years total to finish all requirements, so working teachers can slow down during busy semesters without losing progress.
A ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø educator certificate can demonstrate advanced proficiency in a subject similarly to a master’s degree, without the same time or financial commitment, so it may help toward salary lane advancement. Salary lane rules vary by district and require prior approval, so confirm specific credit requirements before enrolling.
A certificate is a multi-course program that demonstrates mastery of a defined body of knowledge, such as classroom management or bullying prevention. A series lets you go deeper into a single subject area through a sequence of related courses. Both earn graduate-level extension credit that may apply toward salary advancement, subject to district approval.
